Excavation of Archaeological sites of Assam

The Directorate of Archaeology has conducted systematic and scientific excavation in two number of Archaeological sites in Assam in the field season 2016-17 with proper recommendation from the government and license from the Archaeological Survey of India.

The sites are namely

i.Dekdhowa Archaeological site in Goalpara District of Assam.
ii.Megalithic site at Khobak in Dima Hasao District of Assam.

Exploration of Archaeological Sites and Monuments of Assam

The Directorate has conducted extensive exploration in Dima Hasao District of Assam with proper recommendation from the Govt of Assam and license from the Archaeological survey of India. The exploration in the District yielded few numbers of new Archaeological sites like Megalithic site at Khobak, Bolsan stone jar site, stone jars at Lungphuiphai for the field season 2016-17.
